Cinderella Wedding
My wedding was a real Cinderella wedding. We got married at Avianto, a stunning venue. It started where the Ushers and grooms men welcomed all the guests. Then the groom’s men went down the amphitheater and waited as the first two ushers walked down the stairs as the song from Cinderella – “I dream is a wish your heart makes” played with a banner that said “Here comes the Groom” then Willie walked down with his mother. After that I arrived with my carriage. As the carriage came towards the amphitheater the 3 bridesmaids started walking down the stairs. When my carriage stopped my father helped me to get out and we stood at the back, as the carriage pulled away the other 2 ushers started walking down the stairs with a banner saying “Here comes the Bride” when they reached the bottom the carriage pulled away and my dad and I started walking down the stairs on the traditional wedding march. We had the most beautiful ceremony. After the ceremony the song from the Kelly family played “Because its love” and we walked up the stairs to get into the carriage and drove away to take some pictures. When we entered the reception, Willie’s cousin sang our welcoming song from Vaughan Gardiner “Gooi jou arms” and each guest lighted a sparkler. The reception entrance had a carriage which was hand made by my father in law. The colors of the reception were Red and blue, each table had a name out of Cinderella like Price, Duke, Glass Slipper and so forth. The flowers were all white Orchids and roses, with crystal chandeliers and crystal under plates and glasses and each table had a “Glass Slipper”. Each guest got a mask, a Cinderella & the Prince crystal and a photo of our Pre-wedding shoot. There was also a photo booth for the guests to enjoy themselves and have some fun. There was a candy buffet as well for those with a sweet tooth specially done by my mother. As it was a winter wedding, we had a 4 course dinner. Just after the main meal we opened the dance floor but not really in the traditional way. The guest had to put on their masks as the song from Cinderella 2 “ Still Belive” started any everybody danced except myself and Willie. We started walking half way through the song towards each other as we stood opposite sides from each other. When we reached each other we joined in and started dancing, as the song finished the people started walking towards the sides and our song, Give in to me from the Country Strong Soundtrack started playing and we had our first dance with our masks on. After the first dance I danced with my dad to Cinderella from Steven Curtis, my dad was crying so much I had to take the lead J after that Willie danced with his mother to the song from Kerry Underwood “Mother” after all the dances Willie and myself cut the cake, which I made myself and next to the cake was and ornament from Cinderella and the Prince. The song from Beauty and the beast “be my guest” played while we were cutting the cake. After that I had a special request for my parents as they never had a first dance on their wedding day to have their first dance, it was truly magical to witness my parents as they danced together. Overall our Fairytale wedding was the best time of our lives and it’s beyond doubt one day we will always cherish.
